Hi there,
I’m a homeschooling mother, I’ve been doing this for 2 years now.
You may be asking yourself what made me ever think of homeschooling my child.
Well she (Emma) was in a good francophone school here in calgary alberta, everything went well until she had one particular boy bully her over and over and even get physically abusive with her ( throwing rocks, slapping her, calling her names)
she would come home in tears, a little girl in grade 2!
that’s when I started surfing the net and spending days learning about homeschooling.
I fell in love with the idea( truthfully I had thought of it years earlier before I had any kids yet )
I wanted to be in charge of what my daughter would be learning, I wanted to know better what she knew and what she didnt know yet.
I wanted to spend more time with her and I wanted to learn with her.
so I went to the school and packed up her stuff and headed home .
Our journey as a homeschooling family was to begin, and I knew next to nothing yet about homeschooling.
Soon I found out there was funding for us homeschooling families! I didnt’ know that and was prepared to pay for her schooling myself.
Well that was a big help and a big relief.
Some people may say the funding isn’t much, but you know what?….it sure helps!
My daughter is now in grade 3, I’ve learned to go with the flow and find ways to educate without fighting with her ( she’s very headstrong!)
